Texaco Air-Flow Design Tanker
This is a prime example of
the early Airstream trailer that literally started a cult. Notice that the shape
is much more rounded that Airstreams of today. This smaller model is called
a Bambi and is much prized as a collectable today.
I purposely left this picture
tall so you could see the height and enormity of the actual building itself here
at the Henry Ford Museums. If you take a moment to look up you realize what a
magnifiecent structure this building is. It is a artifact of an earlier age all
by itself.
The metal work on this truck
is a classic piece of sculpture as beautiful as any abstract sculpture that
you will ever see. This truck sat outside at the museum for years before people
realized it artistic value. Now it is recognized as the exquisite example of
that era. Beautifully restored by the museum staff.
