Comparing the Old and the New

I found a nice spot in Hiawasee, GA. to provide a backdrop for the two Shelbys. I Photoshopped the 1968 Ford GT500 into the shot to show the differences in the looks of the two cars. The beauty of the two cars are very different and each has it's special character and beauty.

My personal preferences are that I like the front of the new 2011 Shelby with the extended snout and the air scoop on the hood. I even began to like that Grabber Blue by the end of the week.

For the rear view, the Fastback 1968 Mustang is the stuff that legends are made of. This is Steve McQueen in ''Bullet'' and there is no mistaking that shape.

I can't remember the interior of the 68 and the new Shelby is only offered in black with white racing stripes so I can't say that either car impressed me with their interiors.

There are too many factors involved in saying which car I would prefer. I am just glad that I was able to drive them both in the year that they were introduced. Unfortunately that only proves that I am old. To be able to make that statement though, puts me in a pretty small and elite group.
