Alex Xydias Belly Tanker

The red and white tank is our Alex Xydias,s ride and ran as car no. 555 in '48.Ê It was entered as Xydias & Shaw and then Alex Xydias during the season. It ran in Class A Streamliner powered by a '39 V8-60. Fastest speed was 132.93 mph. This car was featured in the 2010 Pebble Beach Concours De-Elegance.

This car was featured along with nine other cars from the early days of California dry lake racing and also on the Bonneville salt Flats.
That is the original So-Cal tank it was rebodied with the streamliner body in 1949. It crashed at Daytona Beach in 1951 & was then scraped.
