I was one of the flagger at Golden Triangle drag strip and here is a poster from the day. I will tell you that Ed Garlits was probbly quicker than Don off the line and that is saying something. He usually ran a Buick engine, but soemtimes he got the hand me downs from Don. I flagged Don,Ed,Connie Swingle,and Art Malone, all driving for the Garlits Garage.
