Like a lonely sentry, Harry Nugent is at his post and ready for the onslaught of Old Farts as the 25 Annual Daytona Turkey Rod Run 1998 is about to begin. At daybreak it is cold and wet, but as the sun came up and the gates opened we began to see action.
The OK Kids were set up next to the tent and had their raffle car on display. They do great things or kids and have a graphics school underway and deserve our gratitude and praise for a job well done. We will have more about their program as time goes on.
This is big business underway as a new member to the Old Farts Car Club gets a set of hubcaps as a bonus for joining the O.F.C.C. We don't knopw what the hubcaps fit, but beggars can't be choosers.
The sun was starting to come out as the cars took their place on the field. Cut-off was 5000 cars this year and the crowds were unbelievable. Read on.
