This is the heart of moonshining and stock car racing. Home of Bill Elliot and the famous Dawsonville Pool Hall. Moonshine cars making runs into Atlanta was the start of stock car racing as the drivers competed to show who had the fastest car. The Flock Bros., Red Byron, Gomer Sosebee, and the first lady of stock car racing, Louise Smith.

They shut down the town square and line the streets with old stock cars and 1940 Fords and other hotrods.
