  • Sands of Pendine 2013 Pendine Sands Hot Rod Races
    Vintage Hot Rod Association Pre-1949 Vintage hot rods, all built to pre-1949 specifications. a car show was staged at the nearby car park and in the paddock area. Vintage and Classic Vehicles were featured at this this historic racing event; The nearby Museum of Speed, in Pendine was a bonus..
  • El Mirage 2013 Doug Hayes provided the photo coverage of this running on the dry lakes beds. Since the beginning of hot rods Out oin the hot sun for racing fame and guiding lights.
  • Santa run Photos provided by myself for this small but very nice show. Located in the Oakwood area, this is a good show and the crowds are getting out of hand.

  • Goodguys Hot Rod of the YearThanks to Kirk Jones and the Goodguys association fpr photo coverage of the 2013 Hot Rod of the year. The award was won by George Poteet's 1934 Ford Coupe.

  • Santa Maria Car Show Thanks to Brian Rusk for the photos of this the 2013 show. This show is dedicated to Kustoms from the fifties and is a great show for the slow and low customs or Kustoms as they were referred to in the day.
  • Goodguys Pleasanton 2013 This is a great show in a beautiful town and venue. We were there in 2009 when we took Doug Cooper's Ridler award winner the Deucenberg, and Alan Johnson's 1932 Ford Roadster. Alan won the Storker McGurk award. We came all the way from Atlanta. We then took Alan's car to Los Angeles for the photo shoot for Street Rodder magazine.
  • 19th Annual Memorial Motor Madness Car Show presented by Hackettstown Rotary Club. This show was held at MARS CHOCOLATE .. the makers of M&M Candy!!! Over 500 Antiques, Classics, Stocks, Muscle Cars & Rods were there... Weather was a was a bit Kool & Breezy in the 50’s but not a cloud anywhere. It’s been 7 years since my last trip and will be back again All the proceeds for this event go to benefit The Joan Knechel Cancer Center at Hackettstown Hospital and other local charities in the area.

  • Hotrod Magazines Cover Cars from the homecoming These are the icons that graced the cover of Hot Rod Magazine over the years. These were the rods that stirred kids souls and provided the stuff that dreams were made of. To have the cars gathered for this show is an event that will never happen again.

  • Hotrod Magazine 65th Anniversary Homecoming show. We have three people to thank for the photo coverage of this show. Chuck Glass, Jimmy Chavez, and Craig Wise were glad to share their photos of this show. This was one show that I was very sorry that I missed. This was my era and the cars that were displayed were true icons from the traditional era of hotrodding. Hot Rod Magazine was the bible of the hobby and these were the cars that made it famous.

  • Turkey Rod Run Spring 2013 Thanks to Scott for the coverage of the Turkey Rod Run Spring edition at the Daytona International Speedway. This show doesn't get as much coverage in the hot rod news, but it is a great show and one that we always did good at with our vendor tent. Be prepared to walk and have sore feet, because this is a big show filled with hotrods, customs. rat rods, and a large car corral. Thanks again Scott.

  • Sacramento Autorama Filled with hot rod roadsters, coupes and custom cars, it also featured a suede pavilion with traditional hot rods and customs. One of the oldest shows in the country.
  • Suede Pavilion Sacramento has many traditional style rods and here is where they had their own home.
  • Carl Caspers show St. Louis is the home to another old show in the midwest. Carl Casper is the producer and has been producing shows for fifty years.
  • Portland Roadster Show Photos from the camera of Ken Hart covers the Portland show and Ken has provided many show photo albums and we sure thank him.
  • The 2013 Detroit Autorama For sixty years the Detroit Autorama has set the tone of the hot rod and custom car movement. The Ridler Award is the nations top award for excellence in hot rod or custom builders creations. Beautiful weather helped bring the big crowds. The great eight is the top group competeing for the Ridler Award.
  • The basement at the Autorama Known as the Autorama Extreme, the basement is where the traditional and the old style hang out. A totally different set of standards usually apply in the basement. Sorta the Tiki lifestyle is prevalent. Proceed at your own risk!
  • Goodguys Southwest Nationals The Goodguys rod and custom association has its Southwest Nationals at the Westworld facility. We have photos from Ken Hart of the event and even though the skies were dark, the cars, rods and customs came out in full force.
  • Sacramento Autorama The Sacramento Autorama is now in its 63rd year. The Sacramento Autorama is “The Kustom Capital of the World” and boasts being home to one of longest running indoor car shows in the world. The Autorama is recognized as the premiere custom car show on the West Coast.
  • Suede Pavilion The Sacramento Autorama also features the Suede Pavilion where the traditional and current interpretations prevail. Usually in suede paints and primers, these are bare bones hot rods and customs in the old style.
  • Carl Casper's 50th Anniversary Car Show Thanks to Dougg01 on the HAMB forum we have coverage of Carl Caspers car show in Louisville, Kentucky. Carl Casper has been putting on car shows for 50 years and he is also a prolific car builder and has built many of the showcars that we recognize from over the years. A true hot rod guy, he is still at it. Throughout the year, his cars are on display at the Kruse museum in Auburn, Indiana.
  • Motorama 2013 in Harrisburg, PA. ''Big Al'' Liebmann has always been one of our consistent contributors and he sent over 150 photos from the Motorama showing great hot rod and custom cars from the great Northeast. Some great shots of the Don Vargo roadster clone that was on the show circuit back in the sixties, side by side with the Lil Deuce coupe in the Detroit Autorama. Both cars built and influenced by the Alexander Brothers.
  • Grand National Roadster show inside at the Fairplex is one of the oldest are most prestigious car shows in the country. Home of America;s most beautiful roadster competition. Several buildings are filled with hotrods, customs, motorcycles and vendors from all over the automotive world.   • Lineville, Alabama Thanks to an Alabama photo contributor we have coverage of this great show that I didn't even know existed. Not sure of the exact location.

  • Woodies at the Grand National. This years show at a very impressive collectionb of Woddie station wagons and surf machines. More photos from Vegas Lug Nut, A lot of Ford woodies, but also Plymouth, International, Chevrolet , and more filled the halls of the Fairplex.

  • Motorcycles at the GNRS. Lots of cool motorcycles of all kinds. custom cycles and stock motorcycles, they were mainly works of art. P{hotos again from Vegas Lug Nut.

  • Outside at the GNRS. The cars that gathered in the outside display area were as cool as the cars inside. Row after row of street driveable and beautiful cars circle the Fairplex and also was a great place for looking at beautiful ladies. More from Vegas Lug Nut.

  • Gassers at the Grand National Roadster show. The halls in side the Suede Palace was the setting for some of the old gassers from the day, and also recreations of old gassers. Stone, Woods and Cook Willys, and many other from the gasser wars.Vegas Lug Nut
